What can I say about the Pentax/Ricoh?
My calling for this camera is the “Adventure Proof” claim. A pocketable camera is always a good tool to have in your toolbox. We journey into areas where taking a valued camera is a questionable decision. The next question becomes whether the pocketable camera is capable of what you need it to do in that scenario. If you’re on an adventure then you don’t desire low quality pictures.
The next reason is the micro-mode. There’s so much out there that we glance over without a second thought because it is out of our purview. This camera has the capability to go to that range and some with digital zoom.
I do not know if this will completely replace my waterproof film camera, but for other things it is very versatile; I don’t see myself needing a different pocketable camera in the near future.
Cons:
Does not shoot in RAW
Does not permit custom JPEG recipes, like the Ricoh GR series
Alleged poor video quality. I say alleged because I have not personally tried to use it yet. When I had the Fuji X100V, that was also the claim due to the absence of IBIS, but having it on a still surface I got some nice postcard videos.
