Lightroom Masterclass

I took the TIG Lightroom Masterclass and have come to the end with only the assignments left.

Why did I sign up for this? To improve, duh…

In reality, I have never taken my pictures far from what I see in reality. Have you ever had the experience of an online review where the person tells you everything on the menu is 5 stars only to find that they can’t make a cup of black coffee? ☕️ Well, I personally never want to misrepresent my reality. However, I am open to the option of highlighting certain parts that deserve it.

Back to the subject, I took the class because I want to edit with intent. Sure, you can open up LrC and move some sliders around but it is not the same as knowing what the levers and pulleys are for. I feel like this class has helped; I felt that YouTube tutorials (in general) share tips but never the full story.

With that I am off to complete my assignments. These are:

  1. Build Your Own Edit

  2. The 7-Day Color Challenge. I am torn between Orange and Green. Orange really pops but will be harder to find. Green is ubiquitous but because of that it can be difficult to isolate

  3. (Self Assignment) Build your personal style

    • I really like the old Ektachrome look. I plan to open up some books (e.g., New York in Color) and try to get to that result. From there, sprinkle in some creative choices to make it more Me.

    • Even with this beginning step, it may turn out that I don’t even like it and it does not represent me. It’s part of the journey.
